Biography
Joel M. Andre (1981–Present) was born in Cottonwood, AZ. From a young age, Joel knew his passion was to write tales that shocked and sent chills down the spines of readers. But it was not where he began.
During his teen years he focused his attention on writing poetry in the style of Edgar Allan Poe. His work, while dark, often lifted the brow of friends who read it. But the passion was there — and soon the winter wonderland that consumed Lauren Bruni was born (Death at the North Pole & the Black Chronicles series).
Joel has gone on to build a rich body of work spanning multiple genres: from the small-town supernatural horror of the Black Chronicles, to the brutal Arizona noir of the Brutal Series, to the sweeping dark fantasy epic of the Pentacle of Light.
His most recent horror novel, Interlinked Destiny, was released for Halloween 2021. He followed it with the fantasy story Werewolf of Winter Woods, released January 17th, 2022 in honor of his father's birthday. He is currently planning to rewrite several of his earlier works for their 13th Anniversary — Cursed Editions.
Writing Style
Joel's work blurs genre lines with intention. His horror is laced with dark comedy and genuine dread. His fantasy is rooted in moral consequence and ancient stakes. And his thrillers never flinch from the ugliness that lives in ordinary people.
He cites Edgar Allan Poe as a foundational influence and carries that tradition of atmosphere-first storytelling into every work he produces.
